Over the years, as we have flown around the Southeast, our photographers are always on the lookout for interesting and creative views. It really is a unique perspective to be 500’ – 3000’ off the ground over busy streets, beautiful landscapes, mountains, and rivers. We love getting to show these images off and there is no better way than with an old-fashioned photo exhibit.

Aerial Innovations Southeast was asked to capture and curate a 30 image exhibit featuring images that highlighted West Tennessee’s architecture and landscape.

Most of our flight images are for commercial clients, but these could not be commercial in nature or highlight any negative aspects of the visual landscape. The work was also going to be showcased in the A2H office, so they needed to be pleasing and interesting to view over an extended period of time.

Our team reviewed and edited our entire portfolio of creative, West Tennessee aerial images, which were amassed over a 10 year period. The result was a 30 image framed exhibit, as well as corresponding coffee table book.

Capturing the Big Picture

We worked quickly to go through our expansive portfolio and narrow it down to 30 strong images. Using the unique hanging system by A2H, we were also able to get the exhibition up and running quickly and professionally.

the outcome

Following the success of the A2H show (and because we had several frames leftover), we approached Lexus of Nashville to hang some of our creative aerial photography in their showroom. The new showroom (built by our client Crain Construction) had several gallery areas that local artists could use to showcase their artwork.

It was great being able to show many different types of work: abstract, cityscapes, landscapes. And it looked so nice hanging in the gallery that we used it for the backdrop for our headshots! Keep an eye out, you may not know where we’ll put on a show next!
